ASSET IBM
Asset | International Business & Management, the study association for students of BSc. International Business Administration and MSc. International Management. With nearly half of its members hailing from diverse countries, this association serves as a unique space where various cultures converge. In addition to academic pursuits, Asset | IB&M offers resources for career orientation, personal development, and social activities. Whether it's engaging in enjoyable recruitment events such as sushi workshops and padel tournaments, participating in the football league, or embarking on unforgettable international journeys, this association brings it all together. The association
Asset | IB&M caters to students pursuing the BSc. International Business Administration and the MSc. International Management, representing the largest bachelor program of Tilburg University. While prioritizing academic excellence, the association also provides resources for career orientation, personal development, and social activities.
A distinctive feature of this association lies in its international membership, with nearly half of its members coming from various countries. Unlike many associations where international representation is minimal, here, all communication is conducted in English, and nearly every committee includes someone from outside the Netherlands.
This results in a vibrant blend of diverse cultures within the association, creating an incredibly enjoyable aspect for its members. There is always a lot to learn about different cultures because of the members who come from a variety of countries.
Career events
We organize several events with companies, surrounding career orientation. During these events, we collaborate with a company to organize an activity for students aimed at expanding everyone's professional network.
We have discovered that informal activities often attract higher attendance and are just as effective for networking. For instance, we recently hosted a sushi workshop in partnership with a company, where company representatives and students came together to make sushi while simultaneously gaining insights into the company and its culture.
Another event that we organize is a padel tournament together with different companies. Everyone is very enthusiastic about this quite new event. Engaging in sports together not only fosters networking but also contributes to staying physically and mentally healthy.
Sports
The culture of staying active together extends to other facets of the association. In our boardroom, we have established a sports ladder where members can earn points for engaging in sports and ultimately have the chance to win a prize. Members can for instance submit photos of them doing a sports activity together to gain points. To further promote this initiative, we have introduced Asset | IB&M sports shirts.
Together with all departments of Asset | Tilburg, we organize our annual football league. We always join with a very enthusiastic team, as depicted in the photo. Last year we won this Asset Champions League, which we are of course very proud of!

Activities
Asset | IB&M boasts a lot of different committees, varying from informal to formal, ensuring a diverse range of activities and providing ample opportunities for all active members to join a committee that aligns with their interests. Our committees organize among others multiple date dinners, monthly drinks, and an annual Active Members Weekend. As for formal events, we organize for instance the IBA Weeks and the Consultancy Days. Some members even participate in multiple committees at the same time to develop themselves both formally and informally.
One of the most enjoyable informal activities that is being organized by Asset | Tilburg is the COdE, the Centraal Overleg der Economen. This is a semi-annual cantus with all Asset departments, where Asset | IB&M always attends with approximately 70 people, all dressed in our orange cantus shirts of course.
Travel
In addition to our regular activities and career events, we embark on multiple trips throughout the year. Due to our international focus, during these trips we prioritize visits to multinational companies operating in various countries. For instance, during our European Trip this year, we visited a company in Milan.
Furthermore, we organize an Intercontinental Trip, with last year's destination being South Africa. This journey not only involves visits to various companies for educational purposes but also serves as a delightful opportunity for our members to enjoy each other's company. It stands as one of the highlights of the year!
To ensure accessibility for students with budget constraints, we also arrange a shorter trip to a nearby city. Lastly, we go on a ski trip every January. There, we don’t do any company visits, but rather revel in skiing and après-ski activities!
