Economic Business Weeks Tilburg
Like every year, the Economic Business Weeks Tilburg (EBT) is back on the agenda. This year the event celebrates its 25th anniversary, which will be festively celebrated. In those 25 years, the EBT has grown into the largest career event in the South of The Netherlands. In this article you can read what the EBT is, what to expect and why you should register.
WHAT IS THE EBT?
The EBT stands for Economic Business weeks Tilburg. It is the largest recruitment event in the south of The Netherlands and therefore of Tilburg University. We try to be the link between the student and the business community. During the EBT, about 85 companies come to campus to get in touch with students. Those companies then give presentations and workshops, but there are also informal activities such as Business Lunches, sushi workshops, and golf clinics. So you get to interact with great companies in both a formal and informal way.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE EBT?
The EBT aims to prepare students for their future careers. In addition, the event is there to inspire students and give them a chance to learn. For example, we organize a Training Day where you develop certain professional soft skills. We also have the Business Night and the Sustainability Symposium which offer students new insights. Students can find out about their future careers in a low-threshold way during the Career Fair of the Company Days.

WHY SHOULD A STUDENT ENROLL IN THIS PARTICULAR YEAR?
This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the EBT! Over the past 25 years, we have grown tremendously as an event, from a 1-day event called the Economic Games to now a three-and-a-half week event. Currently, the EBT is the largest career event in the Southern Netherlands. This year we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. To make this lustrum edition a great success we once again have a great interpretation of our event: Just Spee (chairman of the KNVB) will speak at the Business Night, McKinsey & Company will participate in the Consultancy Experience, companies like ING, KLM, Allianz & Mars will participate in the Company Days and so on!
WHEN ARE YOU A SUITABLE STUDENT TO PARTICIPATE?
All students interested in Economics, Management and/or Behavioral Sciences are suitable to participate in the EBT! Both for students at the beginning of their studies and students approaching the end of their studies, the EBT has relevant activities to offer.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO DO A BOARD YEAR AT THE EBT?
It really is a unique opportunity to do a board year at the EBT. The EBT is registered as a BV, so you spend a year running your own company while simultaneously organizing one of the biggest career events in the Netherlands. Many students don't realize that the EBT is organized by 5 students who spend a year doing this full-time. We are confident that we will have a great edition this year. We all have never regretted for a moment that I made the choice to do a year at the EBT.
