5 x 'Kermis' for Students

For ten days, from July 21st to July 30th, the largest and most fun fair in the Netherlands takes place in Tilburg, the 'Tilburgse Kermis'. In addition to the numerous attractions at the fair, there are also plenty of other things to do: various events, exhibitions, parties, and festivals spread throughout Tilburg. And these are definitely a lot of fun for students too! Here's the ultimate student guide to what you absolutely shouldn't miss at the fair!

Kraak Kermis

During the 'Tilburgse Kermis', De Nieuwe Vorst organizes a 'sort of ten-day festival,' known as the 'Kraak Kermis Festival'. This program is filled with performances, films, installations, music, and art.

At the 'Kraak Kermis Festival', you won't experience the whiplash of a booster ride, but instead, you'll find a grab bag full of curiosities, a futuristic freak show, and a garden of delights. With the inner garden as the festival's heart, you can enjoy ten days of off-the-grid fair fun during the 'Kraak Kermis Festival'. Experience a dance invasion with Vloeistof and relax in a UFO massage salon. Celebrate Pink Monday with House of Circus and watch films with Pop-Up Cinema and VPRO Flowerboy. Expect drag shows in the garden and guided raves in the basement. Listen to passionate talks during PechaKucha or simply have a beer in the garden with a chance to encounter art.

RoadShow

The RoadShow Festival is the ultimate festival spot during the 'Tilburgse Kermis', where DJs, acts, club hostings, and artists can showcase their talents. This edition will focus on three equally exciting areas: House and Techhouse facing off against Hit songs and Guilty Pleasures, alongside a new space with a party atmosphere. This is the place to dance and experience the true festival vibe during the Kermis in the Spoorzone.

At the RoadShow, you'll find all the ingredients to have a fantastic time for three days, on July 21st, 22nd, and 24th, in the Spoorzone! For more information and the timetable, check out: Desperados Roadshow Festival.

LunaLunaLuna

A colorful collection of peddlers in theater, music, and curiosities entices you for a small fee to experience a unique event. LunaLunaLuna is a brand-new mini-festival, a theatrical oasis for intimate spectacles amidst the bustling fairground excitement. In Wilhelminapark, LunaLunaLuna shines a spotlight on the original attractions created by Tilburg's artists and visionaries for five days, from July 26th to July 30th. LunaLunaLuna is enjoyable for people of all ages, but especially for students, as the attractions are relatively affordable, and the atmosphere is delightful. Surrounded by trees, there are tables with benches and chairs where you can relax and have a drink with friends. Don't miss the music program between 18:00 and 19:30!
