City tour along the wall-paintings

This week we have a fun but also a special walk for you. Maybe you have already spotted some murals in the city, or you're wondering why more and more are popping up. Tilburg is getting more and more street art. This is because the city has decided to ask more and more different artists to decorate the city. Put on your walking shoes and follow this art route through the city. An advantage of this walk; it is completely free, and you will make it to 10.000 steps a day!

Textielplein

The route starts at the Textielplein in the district of De Hasselt. At the corner of the Textielplein and the Dessinateurstraat, you will find a beautiful work of art made by Joep van Gassel. The artwork has been given the name 'Schonste wijk'. Do not forget to look upstairs because you will find the artwork on the side of a house. On the way to the next location, towards the Albert Heijn XL you will pass artist Atilla's work. The works of Atilla can be found in more places in the city.

Albert Heijn XL

On the parking lot just around the corner from the AH XL and Aldi, you will find Robin Nas's work, also known by his artist name Zenk One. In his work of art, he has incorporated several films and series. Do you recognize the Transformers and Ghostbusters?

Spoorzone

If you walk further in the direction of the Spoorzone, you can admire the Lieve Vlaamse Gaai. The work is to be found at Smeer 'm. Tom de Meer made this one. Tom took care of the whole building. Very cool to see and a must to admire. In the Spoorzone, you can not miss the Hall of Fame. This place is known for its beautiful artworks and graffiti drawings. Erik Veldmeijer and Frans Boukas make the artwork. If you walk from the Hall of Fame towards the Koepelhal, you will come across the work of Rutger Termohlen, Erik Veldmeijer, and Colin van der Sluijs. Take your time with this work of art because it never gets tired. It seems to be a reflection of different fantasies. If you follow the road in the direction of the Telefoonstraat, you will pass RAW. On these buildings, you will find works of art by Aziz and again Atilla.

Telefoonstraat

In the Telefoonstraat, you will find the beautiful work of Ruben de Bruijn. The occupant of the building asked him. He thought that the gray color could use a refresher. This work of art incorporates all of Tilburg's landmarks, such as Westpoint or the Piushaven. Besides the fact that there is a fantastic work of art to be seen in this street, you can also find a small statue. If you take a close look, you can see a small chord dancer on the fence in front of Ruben's artwork.

Langestraat

On the corner of Langestraat and Wingerdhoek, you will find 'De Wijnschenker.' The work was made by Collectief Teckel and stood for the wine cellars you used to find in the Dwaalgebied. When you walk further into the Wingerdhoek, you will find a beautiful, colorful work made by Erik Veldmeijer.

Rankenstraat

The route ends in Rankenstraat, around the corner from Mr. Morris. Erik Veldmeijer has decorated a large wall with a large dove of peace. The work was done in the spring of 2020 in honor of 75 years of liberation in Tilburg.

Can't get enough of the graffiti artworks and street art in Tilburg? There is much more to see. Extend your walk and walk along; The Puccini flat, Veestraat, Tjeuke Timmermansstraat, Koolzaadhof, Korvelseweg, Minderbroederspad, Steck013, Klaverstraat, Akkerstraat, Piushaven, and Hoogvensestraat.
