Going out coronaproof

We are more housebound because of the coronavirus. But there are still some nice things we are allowed to do, and Tilburg has a lot to offer. This week we share a nice list of fun things you can do. Ready for it?

De Pont

We can go to the museums again! And Tilburg offers a lovely museum called De Pont. De Pont is located in an old wool spinning mill, beautifully converted into a space where contemporary art can fully flourish. Think of large and beautiful areas and the right lighting. The museum has been presenting beautiful shows and exhibitions since 1992. De Pont has its collections that you can see, but they also have three large and five smaller exhibitions every year. Would you like to take a look? Then don't forget to book your ticket online in advance. You are also required to wear a mouth mask in the museum. Students get a discount on the entrance ticket, don't forget to check it when booking!

Textile Museum

Lucky us! We are also allowed to visit the Textile Museum. This museum is a dynamic and creative museum where past and present come together. Did you know that Tilburg used to be a textile city? Textiles are shown here from different disciplines: design, art, technique, and history. The production process of fabric is central to this. Visitors witness how products and objects are developed. There is always a diverse range of exhibitions presenting craftsmanship and creativity. Part of the museum is located in the textile factory. Are you curious where that name comes from? Then be sure to take a look!

Cinecitta

Yes! We are allowed to go to the cinema! Would you like to go to the movies one night but just a little bit different? Visit the cinema Cinecitta. They have been leading in the field of quality films for more than 100 years. Besides the fact that they show unique movies, the building is already a picture in itself. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a unique appearance. On the website, you will find all the films that are currently running. Are you planning to pay a visit? Reserve a spot, and be sure that you can go inside. The film projectors are up and running again, and they are doing their very best to create the ultimate experience. Don't forget to wear your obligatory mask! As soon as you have found your spot in the room, you can take it off.

The gaming factory

The gaming factory hasn't been open for a very long time in Tilburg. Unfortunately, also this business had to close for a while because of the coronavirus. But fortunately, they are back again! This game hall is no less than 1500 m2 and is full of fun games, from lots of old and new arcade games to E-games like Fortnite, and from Airhockey to various board games. It is a real Walhalla for the game lover. Besides the fact that the games are entertaining, the building itself is also a picture. The former iron factory is mostly restored to its former glory and equipped with the most modern facilities. On the website, you'll find all the rules you have to follow when visiting the game hall; think of a mouth mask, for example. You can also order your tickets on the website. There is currently an arrangement for 2 hours of unlimited games.

In any case, we don't have to get bored in Tilburg. Visit the museum around the corner and take a look at the film theater. We have plenty of time to discover new places in the city. Have fun!
