Study places in Tilburg

The question 'where can I study' has been asked a lot lately. It's also quite a change; with your laptop and books in your student room. We can't take it for granted now that we can go to campus every day to take classes or to study at the library. However, sometimes it is nice and good for your concentration to be in a different room than where you sleep and eat. That's why we've made a handy list of places you can go to in the city if you want to study hard for a day. These places are also very handy if you want to work somewhere else in peace instead of between your noisy housemates.

Creative Coffee Café Buutvrij

Buutvrij is located in the Stationstraat and is therefore easily accessible. It is open seven days a week from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. You can go there for really anything. Whether you want to have breakfast or lunch, or just want to pick up; it's all possible. They also have a great deal if you're studying at home but want to take a little break. Take a nice walk to Buutvrij and pick up a (home)work/picnic menu. This consists of a sandwich, a juice or drink of your choice, and a cake. All this for only 15,- euros. In the coffee cafe, you can work and study. It feels like a second living room. Do you want it to be really quiet? Then book the greenhouse or the workshop. The greenhouse is a bright courtyard garden and offers an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city. The workshop is a rougher space where you can study, meet, and work.

Deprez

Deprez is a former steam boiler factory in the Spoorzone that is now used as space for multiple organizations. For example for MindLabs, de Persgroep, Fontys, and Tilburg University. There are many free workplaces that anyone can use. There is a kitchen, vending machines, and free tea. Also, there are plenty of power outlets available. Deprez is located on the Lange Nieuwstraat, opposite the station. The advantage of this location is that it is new, fresh, and inspiring. However, you are allowed to talk quietly here, so if you prefer to work in silence, another location might be more suitable or you should bring your headphones. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Outside these times they check who enters the building.

Lochal

Lochal says of itself that this is the best place to meet, work, or study because they are the most dynamic location in the Spoorzone. The spaces have a monumental allure and are equipped with all modern gadgets. There are 18 rooms and more than 300 work and study places in the building. You have to book the rooms via an online system, but you can just walk in for the workstations. Good to know; the higher you get in the building, the quieter the working environment. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 22:00, on Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00, and on Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00.
