TilSAC

Who are we?

At the Tilburg Studenten Alpen Club, or TilSAC, we share a passion for climbing. Whether it would be outside on rocks, or inside in one of the many climbing- and bouldering halls. We practice as many climbing disciplines as possible: from indoor to outdoor, and from bouldering to ice climbing. Amongst our members, you’ll always be able to find a partner to brave the heights together.

We are here for students who are looking for something extra in between his or her student life; an accessible environment, a great sport, and an open and warm community.

A substantial portion of our members is international and because of this, we communicate primarily in English. Our association is a great place to meet new people as well.

Every week we train to get better in this sport. There is a general climbing training on every Wednesday and a training  especially for members on Monday inside of the Tilburg University Sports Center. In addition, we also go out bouldering on Tuesdays at Block013. Of course, this is all optional. The trainings are open for everyone who has an interest in joining TilSAC.

Activities

Nights in Tilburg, midsummer climbing weekends, and outdoor boulder sessions. TilSAC is known for many unique activities besides our regular trainings, which add up to the TilSAC experience.

This year will be known for plentiful new heights such as our own dies, which is a celebration of our 35th birthday. From all over the country, climbers from other associations will come to visit Tilburg to enjoy this party together. You wouldn’t want to miss out on this celebration!

Furthermore, we are planning a trip with the entire association to go outdoor climbing in a nature area within central France. Fountainebleau is a yearly tradition and one of the most anticipated activities of TilSAC.

When can you become a member?

You can always become a member of TilSAC, even if you barely have any experience with climbing. If you would like to join for a training or would like to try out climbing in general, then it is required to obtain a toprope certificate. This can be achieved by taking a course at the sports center.

A yearly subscription to TilSAC costs 22 euros. If you join us in February you will only need to pay for the rest of the academic year, namely 12 euros. As a member, you will also get various discounts at climbing hall Neoliet and boulder hall Block013. The exact contents of these discounts can be found on our website: www.tilsac.nl.
