Tarantula's Naked Calender
For those who haven't heard, Tilburg Student Rugby Club Tarantula has a nude calendar! Are they doing it for fun? Partly, but the best thing about the calendar is that the money raised goes directly to charity. So if you order it, you can simply cause a win-win situation. An iconic calendar in your home and support a good cause. What are you waiting for?
Tarantula
Tarantula is the Tilburg student rugby club. Rugby is being played at different levels. Some have been playing the sport since childhood, while others have never touched a rugby ball before. That is what makes it so much fun at Tarantula, they say. Every Tilburg student is welcome at the club, regardless of level, because they help each other to get to the desired level. Chairman Pim van Doormaal tells us: "It is true, however, that we currently only have a men's team, but who knows, that may change soon. This team and then also the club consists of about 35 members. From this, a team is formed every Sunday that plays in the third class. The goal is to put up a good score so that we can stay in this class."
Naked Calender
"For a while there was an idea for a birthday calendar," says chairman Pim. Rugby is a sport that is great for taking pictures of. In addition, it would ensure that everyone could keep track of each other's birthday. Through all the craziness, an idea soon arose to create a nude calendar. "Coincidentally, this idea arose during the time when people were thinking about our contribution to Movember. It then seemed like a perfect time to link the idea to the charity."
The idea of a nude calendar had been floating around within Tarantula for a while, but now it is being realized for the first time. Pim: "With success if I say so myself. Soon the calendar was ordered by many former members, but also unknown names jumped on the order list. Thanks to the media attention that our photographer, Captain Projects, has caused, the calendar is being ordered a lot." Despite the fact that the members of Tarantula have gone completely out of their clothes, the photos have remained fairly discreet. Creative ways ensured that the noble parts of the sports enthusiasts remained covered, with the rugby ball being a favorite. As such, they are all rugby pictures. For the training, the board rounded up as many people as possible and the professional photographer provided special pictures. They are mostly action photos with several people, with a portrait photo here and there.
Movember
As previously mentioned, the calendar supports charity. The costs will be covered, but the remaining money will go entirely to the charity: Movember. Movember is normally an action in the month of November in which men grow their mustaches. They want to draw attention to male health and raise money for research into prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health. So Tarantula does this in their own way.
