About Spartacus
Tilburg Student Powerlift Association Spartacus has around 200 members and is the perfect association for students wanting to combine a great student time with working out.
Our goal is to promote strength sports in the broadest sense of the word. We are there for the most seasoned bodybuilder, but also for everyone who just wants to get fitter and is looking for a nice group of people to train with. In addition, we have a powerlifting team, with students who lift high level competitions throughout the country under the guidance of our own coaches.
For who?
We are there for uni and HBO students of all levels and organize sports related clinics and seminars as well as drinks and other social activities. These activities come in all shapes and sizes, including a number of BBQ's each year and every year a member weekend. Although there are no fixed training evenings, it is very easy to find a training partner and you will always meet someone in the gym.
Committees
There are a number of committees that members can join to support the association. We currently have an activities committee, powerlifting, social media and promotion, and a tech committee.
In recent years we have had the honor to organize the NK Powerlifts in the Sports Center of Tilburg University. This is annually the largest powerlifting event in the Benelux. Both students and non-students from all over the Netherlands come here to lift as much weight as possible.
Spartacus goes international
Spartacus is working hard to become increasingly accessible to international students. Our communication and the language of our activities are increasingly in English. We also have an Australian-Dutch coach who, with years of experience in sports powerlifting at world level, guides our members in two languages.
You can become a member all year round! We regularly organize clinics and events that are ideal for new members and entrants to the world of powerlifting. As a member you also have large discounts on meat at our partners Bossers Vlees and Titan Netherlands. You are a member for an amount of €25 per year.
