This year is already the fourth edition of the bok beer festival ‘Opbokken’. Every year the festival takes place on the first Sunday after the official start of the bok beer season. The best pubs in the Korte Heuvel work together to make it a pleasant day.
Do you have something to celebrate on Sunday or just want to have a beer? Then you are very welcome at the Korte Heuvel. This year there will be no less than twelve cafés. The participants this year are Cul de Sac, Café de Slijterij, Polly Maggoo, Café Bakker, Heuvel 15, Weemoed, Studio, Bar Leonardo, Tribunaal, Miss Bien Chanternel, SHOKO, and Café Stoffel. Each café has its bars outside so that the street looks like a big pub. If the weather is a bit less, you can also go inside for a nice drink.
Visitors can buy a tasting glass at one of the pubs for 3.50 euros. Then you can have your glass filled at one of the bars for 2.50 euros to taste the different beers. There are more than 25 different beers on tap this Sunday. Do you dare to try them all?
There is also entertainment this Sunday. The music is provided by DJ Ron, also called the ‘hit cannon’. You can assume that you will hear all the hits on Sunday. So don't be surprised if old songs are interspersed with new songs. Besides, the pubs have made the street look very cozy by using matching decoration. Drinking also makes you hungry. The organization has thought of this as well. In line with the theme, there will be various snacks, such as pea soup or pulled pork marinated in bock beer.
You are welcome from 14:00 hours and the festival lasts until 20:00 hours. Don't want to go home yet? Inside the pubs, the party continues into the late hours.
