The Day of Working and Learning
This Friday, October 25th, The Day of Working and Learning will take place in LocHal. This is an initiative of Tilburg University together with Bibliotheek Midden-Brabant and Omroep Brabant. Whether you work for a boss, are a boss, have just graduated and had your first job interview, or are a student, everyone is welcome.
You have to keep on learning throughout your life. This may sound boring, but it's not at all. Lifelong learning is necessary but also fun. Society and the field of work change every time and new demands are made. As an employee, you have to participate in new technological and digital developments. But how? In addition to the digital developments, you must also continue to learn how to work creatively. Communicating, presenting and working in a team is very important. You will continue to develop yourself throughout your life, even if you have finished your studies.
During The Day of Working and Learning, you can participate in inspiring workshops and lectures. Also, there is room to discuss work, learning and developing yourself. There are also professionals present to help you and to teach you a few things.
A selection from the program
There is a public lecture with mayors Joyce Vermue and Hanne van Aart. They are both the youngest mayors and discuss questions such as: how can you become mayor? There is no training for this profession, but how do you become one? How does it work in practice with all those articulate citizens? They will go deeper into what lifelong development means to them.
In the afternoon you can go for a CV check. All graduate students spend a lot of hours on job boards looking for a nice job. But how do you write a good cover letter and a CV? What should be included and how do you ensure that both documents fit together well? Student Career Services of Tilburg University will be present to give you tips.
Another activity on this day is the debate on how to ensure an active learning culture is present and how to retain your employees. This dilemma is currently being faced by many companies as a result of digital and technological developments. HR experts are invited to share their insights, questions, and experiences.
In addition to these three activities, there are many other activities taking place. Come and discover and learn on Friday 25 October. It promises to be not only an instructive but also a fun day!
