Keti Koti

Keti Koti is originally a Surinamese holiday. On this day, the abolition of slavery is remembered and celebrated. Many Surinamese attend a special church service to commemorate the slavery past. Then they celebrate freedom with all kinds of festivities in local city parks and wear traditional clothing.
